If you really want a f30, you should target the 320i or the 320d. It's cheaper and more affordable with your income. a 2012 320d sells around 145k now - certainly much more affordable than 2012 328i which goes ard 170k.
Very few issues overall. I owned a 328i F30 and put 60K trouble free miles. I have 20K miles on my 2014 335i. Just a minor computer issue, a reset and no more problems. If you find a 2014, it is better to get the later build after 3/14 as this has the EWG (Electronic Waste Gate).
Try this to reboot the system. When you have the screen problem: 1) Press and hold the volume button on the center console for more than 30 seconds. 2) After pressing it for about 30 seconds Idrive will go blank and reboot. 3) Let go of the button and wait for Idrive to reboot. 4) See if problem has gone.
